One of the most important resources of the Foundation is its membership. Accomplishments have been possible largely due to the continuous flow of new members into the organization . Concentrated efforts to increase the membership of the Foundation continue daily throughout the State of California.
Although in the last few years the Luso-American Education Foundation has been helped by some large foundations such as "Fundacao Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento", the Foundation is almost solely supported by pledges from members and by gifts, donations, bequests, and fundraising projects
MEMBERSHIP LEVELS:
Membership in the Luso-American Education Foundation is open to anyone interested in preserving and promoting the Portuguese heritage through any of the following tax deductible membership contribution plans:
- Sponsor
Any person who pledges the sum of $500 payable in one lump sum, or installments of $50 per year until the pledged sum is fully paid.
- Sustaining
Any person who contributes the sum of $25 per year until the sum of $600 is fully paid.
- Benefactor
Any person who contributes the sum of $1,000.
- Perpetual
Any person who contributes not less than $2,500 will be accorded a perpetual membership and will be know as a "Patron". A "Patron" may transfer the membership to Legal members of his family, not in excess of five transfers.
- Legal Entity
Any contribution of $500 or more per year entitles an entity to membership. Each $500 contributed per year carries one vote for the year in which it is paid. No such entity shall have more than five votes.
- Donations (Do not carry a membership vote in the Foundation)

*The "In Memorium Fund" is for the use of those individuals interested in making donations to the Foundation in memory of deceased friends and loved ones -- thereby creating a lasting tribute to those whose memories are cherished. The names of those so honored are inscribed in the permanent Memorial Roll which occupies a place of honor at the headquarters of the Foundation
